The Government of Andhra Pradesh has officially announced the commencement of several mega infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing regional connectivity, boosting economic corridors, and modernizing urban road networks across the state.
Key Project Focus Areas
Under the newly approved master plan, special focus is given to state highway networks, rural bypass routes, and high-density transport zones. The phase-wise budget allocation aims to establish sustainable, all-weather road systems:
- State Highway Upgradation: Expansion of 1,200 km of critical highways into 4-lane corridors.
- Urban Bypass Development: Relieving traffic congestion in major commercial cities including Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Guntur.
- Port Connectivity Links: Designing dedicated heavy-vehicle transit roads connecting national highways directly to upcoming ports.

Implementation Timeline & Funding
The projects will be monitored through a centralized digital dash panel to ensure timely completion. Funding is secured through a public-private partnership (PPP) model alongside assistance from multilateral development banks.

- Phase 2 (2027-2029): Highway widening, bridge structures, and port connectivity corridor completions.
